This handout photo obtained 16 November 2006 shows the logo for Reader’s Digest. The Reader’s Digest Association, publisher of magazines around the world, said 16 November 2006 it was being taken over by private equity group Ripplewood Holdings for 2.4 billion dollars. RDA said Ripplewood was paying 17.00 dollars for each of its shares, a premium of about 25 percent over RDA’s volume-weighted average price over the past 60 trading days. The deal, which includes Ripplewood assuming RDA debt, is expected to close in the first quarter of 2007. The company’s flagship magazine, Reader’s Digest, has 50 editions and 21 languages with a monthly circulation of some 18 million and a global readership of around 80 million.
